Should You Use a Banner Page or Not?

What Is a Banner Page?

Before we begin discussing whether you should include a banner page or not, what even is a banner page? A banner page is the first page of any print job that separates different print jobs. It’s what helps indicate where a print job starts from. Think of it as a title page for your print job.

A good example of this is when your copiers are in places where many people use them. In that case, multiple users will have their print jobs lined up.

A banner page may be included to avoid confusion that will help separate one print job from the other. These can be in black and white or color and can have custom designs. They can also include a timestamp, date, name of the person who made the print request, and an IP address.

Although quite useful, a banner page may require disabling. If a few people are only using the copier you lease, banner pages may be wasteful.

How Do You Enable and Disable a Banner Page?

So, how do you enable or disable banner pages on your Xerox machine? You can easily toggle banner pages on or off through the machine itself. Or you can do so through an embedded server (CentreWare Internet Services). The exact method depends upon the machine you buy. That’s why it’s highly recommended to go to the official support page for your machine and search up the “banner page” to learn how to enable and disable it.

Here’s a video guide on enabling and disabling the Banner page on the Xerox B series of copiers to give you an idea. Something similar may be present on your machine, or it may be completely different. That’s why it’s recommended to search for the right method for your specific model.
